CONFERENCE LEAGUE RESULTS

Cumbernauld Pumas AFC P-P LS Memorial

This evening was a bust for both these teams as the match was postponed right before kick off with the pitch not being properly lined.

Hopefully, when these clubs next meet, the pitch will be properly prepared.

Vale of Leven AFC 5 Queen’s Park Supporters FC 0

Vale Of Leven scintillating in second half

After a tightly contested, goalless first half, Vale of Leven delivered a devastating second-half display to secure a 5–0 victory.

Madden broke the deadlock in the 58th minute which paved the way for further strikes from Findlay and Stewart as the home side took full control of the match.

Ponton and Capon then added two late goals to put the ultimate gloss on the scoreline, capping off a dominant second-half performance with five different goalscorers on the scoresheet.

North Kelvin Utd AFC 2 Banknock AFC 2

Late comeback ends in a draw

A tightly contested first half looked set to end goalless until Hamo struck in stoppage time to give North Kelvin the lead going into the break.

Hamo thought he had secured the victory for North Kelvin when he scored his second in the 76th minute, but Banknock produced a dramatic late fightback.

Goals in the final ten minutes from Rae and Garner snatched a dramatic late equalizer to ensure Banknock earned a share of the spoils.

Glasgow Athletic FC 2 Rosebank United AFC 1

Late goals break Rosebank United’s heart

James Finnan struck midway through the first half for Rosebank United, a goal that looked set to seal all three points for the away side.

However Athletic’s Joshua McLaughlin had other ideas, snatching victory from the jaws of defeat scoring a dramatic late brace in the final ten minutes to hand Glasgow Athletic a spectacular comeback win.

Greater Croftpark Rose AFC 2 DTI AFC 2

Entertaining game in the rain

In an entertaining clash at Parklea, the visitors drew first blood on 27 minutes when Spence opened the scoring with a perfectly timed header that crashed in off the crossbar.

Greater Croftpark Rose responded just eight minutes later in dramatic fashion, as Boothby unleashed a thunderous 30-yard strike that smashed into the back of the net to send the sides into the break on level terms.

DTI AFC reclaimed the initiative in the second half when Milne beat Patterson from the penalty spot, a strike that looked to have won the match for the away side. However, Rose refused to go down quietly. With seven minutes remaining, substitute duo Mitchell and McCulloch combined brilliantly, allowing Mitchell to show great composure and slot home a cool finish to rescue a hard-earned point for the hosts.

FINAL THOUGHTS – The late late show

Late goals shaped the evening, with Banknock and Greater Croftpark Rose rescuing draws and Glasgow Athletic completing a dramatic comeback victory.

It proved another eventful night in the Conference League.
