For anyone new to Footy Focus, Hugh Dunnit and Sammy Snitchfield are our Saturday morning roving reporters — although whether either should be trusted with predicting football matches remains open to debate.
It’s Scottish Amateur Cup weekend, which means Hugh Dunnit has studied the form, considered the opposition, weighed up home advantage and applied years of footballing wisdom.
At least, that’s what Hugh tells us.
Sammy remains unconvinced.
Here are Hugh’s calls for six of the ties that caught his eye.
Drumchapel Amateurs v Burnhill FC
After spending the build-up reminding everyone that anything can happen in the magic of the cup, Hugh has rather spoiled the inspirational speech by predicting Burnhill will lose by six.
It’s difficult to give any team absolutely no chance, but Drumchapel are overwhelming favourites here.
Sorry, Burnhill. Apparently the magic only stretches so far.

SAMMY SAYS: Seven?! Chris Priestly might want a word.
Harestanes v Cambuslang Milan
Cambuslang Milan have shown they can raise their game for the big occasion — and this certainly qualifies.
Hugh thinks they’ll make Harestanes work extremely hard for it, but ultimately come up just short.
No seven-goal hammering here. Hugh has rediscovered compassion.
HUGH SAYS: Harestanes 3–2 Cambuslang Milan
SAMMY SAYS: At least somebody got a chance.
Bishopton FC v Strathclyde University
Hugh has seen Bishopton a few times this season and clearly likes what he has seen.
This is an interesting encounter, but he reckons Bishopton have enough about them to book their place in the next round.

SAMMY SAYS: Actual analysis. We’re as surprised as you are.
Muirend v Lomond FC
Now we’re talking.
Two sides in excellent form, with Muirend operating in the higher division. Hugh can’t separate them — and reckons neither will be particularly interested in defending.
Not one for the faint-hearted.
HUGH SAYS: Muirend 3–3 Lomond FC
SAMMY SAYS: Six goals and still no winner. Hugh clearly wants another Saturday out.
New Cumnock v Oban Saints
This one looks intriguing on paper, but Hugh believes the quality in the Oban Saints side will eventually tell.
The long journey won’t put him off backing the visitors.
HUGH SAYS: New Cumnock 1–3 Oban Saints
SAMMY SAYS: A sensible prediction. We’re checking Hugh’s ID.
Rothesay Brandane v Southside United
Hugh has gone old-school with this one: blame the ferry.
He believes home advantage could be decisive and that the journey across the water will make an already difficult afternoon even tougher for Southside United.
Apparently seasickness has now entered the Footy Focus statistical model.

SAMMY SAYS: Hugh forgot to predict Southside’s score. Perhaps they’re still on the ferry.
Six games. Thirty seconds of analysis. One predicted demolition and absolutely no concern whatsoever for the feelings of Burnhill FC.
