GDSFC Division Two

Paisley Saints have an immediate opportunity to respond when they welcome Glasgow Irish to Seedhill Complex.

Saints sit fourth with seven points from four games, having scored 17 goals. Their positive opening was checked last weekend by a 4–3 defeat against Fully Rovers.

John Docherty has led their attacking threat with seven goals, placing him second in the Division Two scoring chart. Sean McDonald has contributed another four, meaning the pair have scored 11 of Paisley’s 17 league goals.

Glasgow Irish travel to Paisley still searching for their first points. Four defeats have brought five goals scored and 25 conceded, including last weekend’s 4–1 loss against Garrison Athletic.

With the three clubs above Paisley all involved in the Sunday Trophy, victory would move Saints level on points with second-placed Vale AFC. Glasgow Irish, however, have the opportunity to change the early direction of their season.

The table makes Paisley favourites, but this game carries pressure for both sides. Saints need a response after their first defeat, while Glasgow Irish need something to stop their difficult start becoming a lasting pattern. Footy Focus will be at Seedhill to see which story emerges.
