Glasgow Green was bleak, cold, and battered by the wind on Sunday, but Pollokshields United and Haghill AFC put on absolute fireworks, with Shields eventually edging out a chaotic 5–3 victory.
Shields ran the show early on and got their reward on 25 minutes when some sharp play through the middle sliced Haghill open, leaving Jarvis Kelly to hammer home the opener. 1-0 !!!
Just minutes later it was a carbon copy, as Olly Rolph was slipped through on goal, kept his composure, and buried it to double the lead. 2-0 Shields !!
Olly Rolf was feeling it and tried his luck twice more from range before the break, but couldn’t quite stretch the margin further.

Haghill came out with far more bite after the restart. Pushing Shields back, they forced a stray pass in defence that let their striker in to coolly slot past Kilday to make it 2–1.
Haghill turned up the heat, aided by a let-off when one of their players was fortunate to only walk away with a yellow card for a heavy challenge.
Shields weathered the storm and hit back hard to take complete control of the match.Bawan restored breathing room with a clever finish for 3–1
Haghill seemed to wilt in the wind and a lightning counter saw Bawan slide the ball across the box for Odubajo to tap home a fourth and his 2nd of the game. 4-1 Shields
Haghill collapsed for a spell, and when Kilday beat the keeper after a clever pass by Nasadi, Adam tried to tap home on the line, this is one for the dubious goal panel to decide. 5-1 !!!
Chic Tinney, wearing the number 10 shirt for Haghill, was excellent for his team and never deserved to be on the losing side. He pulled one back when Haghill won a corner with 11 minutes to go, and—you guessed it—Tinney fired home from close range.
Credit to Haghill, they refused to throw in the towel. A bit of clever midfield play got their striker through to pull one back, and they kept pushing to capitalise on some slack Shields play, driving home another to narrow the gap to 5–3.
The closing stretch was pure Sunday League madness. Haghill almost set up a grandstand finish when their number 7 played the striker through in the dying seconds, but Kilday pulled off a stunning save.
Down at the other end, Elbakari did all the hard work by rounding the Haghill keeper on a one-on-one, only to accidentally run the ball straight out of play.

Final Thoughts
Shields made life much harder for themselves than it needed to be by missing a stack of second-half chances, but manager Nim will be chuffed to leave Glasgow Green with all three points.
