PSP Cruise into Next Round with Dominant Performance Against Notre Dame

PSP progressed comfortably into the next round of the Scottish Cup following a commanding performance against Notre Dame, where relentless attacking pressure earned them a deserved 3-0 victory.

PSP warming up

From the opening whistle, PSP set a frantic pace that kept Notre Dame firmly on the back foot. Early chances arrived thick and fast for the visitors.

Dec proved a constant threat, driving into dangerous areas and forcing an early save after fine build-up work down the left, before seeing a subsequent effort clear the bar following a sharp pass from Vlad.

Callum, Daniel, and Jordan Grant continued to carve open space across the front line, repeatedly setting up Chrissie and Dec, though a combination of off-target finishing and solid saves initially kept the scoresheet blank.

PSP’s relentless pressing finally paid dividends in the 28th minute. Anton produced a moment of sheer determination, driving forcefully down the left flank and battling past multiple challenges before floating a delivery from the byline. Daniel’s initial touch broke perfectly to Chrissie, who made no mistake in slotting the ball into the bottom corner to open the scoring. 1-0 PSP

The visitors maintained their stranglehold on the match and doubled their lead nine minutes later. Jordan Grant cut inside from the right and slid a clever ball through to Vlad inside the penalty area, where the forward coolly slotted home to make it 2-0.

Notre Dame almost found a lifeline just before the break when a sharp break down the right saw their forward beat the goalkeeper, only for the strike to rattle off the underside of the crossbar and bounce clear.

PSP v Notre Dame

The second half followed a similar pattern, with PSP dictating the tempo and continually probing the host’s defense. Callum won a free-kick after a surging run through the middle, while Daniel’s deep corner found Jacko at the back post, whose stretching volley cleared the crossbar.

Gal almost added a third after a dazzling dribble through the heart of the defense, but was denied just as he went to pull the trigger.

The contest was formally put to rest in the 76th minute. Vlad produced another impressive run down the right before picking out Gal in the center of the box, who made no mistake from close range to seal a emphatic 3-0 triumph and secure PSP’s place in the next round.

MOTM

This week goes to Jordan Grant. He was involved in lots of good moves, led from the front and motivated the boys. An excellent captains performance.

Declan also had a great game out left. He made some fine runs, combined well with other players and was heavily involved in all that was good about PSPs performance.
