There is rarely a quiet week in Colleges Saturday morning football, and keeping up with everything happening across the setup is becoming a job in itself.
That is why Footy Focus is introducing a new Colleges News Round-Up, bringing together some of the stories, nominations, cup news and talking points from across the game in one place.
A big part of that has been made possible by the coverage being produced by Scott through his SPAFA Blog.
Scott has been in excellent form, regularly highlighting clubs, players, managers and stories that might otherwise receive very little coverage. Rather than Footy Focus turning every one of those updates into another separate article, our new round-up will pick out the news we think is worth bringing to a wider audience.
And there has already been plenty to choose from.
Scottish Cup Round Two
Following a busy opening weekend of Scottish Amateur Cup action, attention has quickly turned towards the second-round draw.
There are plenty of Colleges sides still involved, with another opportunity for clubs from across the Saturday morning game to test themselves against opposition from elsewhere in Scottish amateur football.
We’ll pick out the Colleges ties to watch as the next round approaches.

Player of the Week — Four in the Running
Scott has also revealed four nominations for Player of the Week following the weekend’s action.
Dylan McGonigle — Gladstone Athletic
A first-half hat-trick accompanied by an assist.
Ciaran McFadden — QPSFC
Led the line with a goal and three assists.
Graeme McCallum — Clydebank SMFC
A hat-trick alongside an impressive all-round performance.
Dec Sexton — Netherton
Another hat-trick as Netherton recorded a convincing victory.
Four players. Three hat-tricks. And another reminder of the individual performances being produced across the Colleges game.

Six Managers Get the Nod
There are also six nominations for Manager of the Week, with Scottish Cup performances featuring heavily.
Steven MacLeod — Oban Saints
Oversaw an impressive 4–1 Scottish Cup victory over Cumnock.
Brian Hay — Pollok United
Guided his side through their Scottish Cup tie against Glasgow Harp.
Alan Sharp — PSP
PSP progressed with a 3–0 away victory against Notre Dame.
Tommy Docherty — Muirend
Muirend’s 4–1 victory brought Lomond’s unbeaten start to an end.
Declan Robert — Netherton
A big result against Carbrain 21s following a difficult opening to the season.
Callum McArthur — Gladstone Athletic
Guided Gladstone to Scottish Cup success against Rutherglen Glencairn 2008s.

A Bumper Squad of the Week
One of the biggest pieces of recognition this week has been the Squad of the Week, with 24 players nominated following the cup weekend.
Rather than simply concentrating on goalscorers, the nominations recognise performances right across the pitch — from goalkeepers and defenders through to midfielders and attackers.
That one deserves a little more room, and Footy Focus will carry the full Squad of the Week separately.
More Coverage, Without More Clutter
That really is the purpose of this new round-up.
Scott’s coverage gives us far more Colleges stories than Footy Focus could sensibly publish as individual features, so the round-up gives us somewhere to highlight the best of them.
So we’ll pick the best of it, add other news and stories we come across, and bring it together here.
Sometimes there might be enough for one round-up a week. When the Colleges news is flowing, there might be more.
And when Scott uncovers something that deserves the full Footy Focus treatment?
We’ll give it the feature it deserves.
