Three weeks into the GDSFC season and there is already far more to find than simply who sits top of each division.
Each week Frank Sideline is tracking the results, league tables and goalscorer information to look for the things that arenât always obvious at first glance â unusual runs, surprise results, perfect starts, recoveries and stories beginning to develop across all six divisions.
Weâre using AI to help cross-reference all that information from week to week, rather than simply generating a list of statistics.
The important bit is deciding what is actually interesting.
Here are some of the things that caught our eye after the opening three weeks.
đ„ Castlemilk are doing something ridiculous
Three wins. 37 goals scored and only ONE conceded.
That is a +36 goal difference after just three league games. Their opening week alone was 16â0, so this isnât one freak result inflating a normal start.
đ Six clubs still have perfect records
Todholm, Third Lanark Sunday, Castlemilk FA, Woodhill AFC, Dennistoun Saints and Glasgow Villa have all played three and won three.
Clydebank Sunday, Maryhill Milan and Kilsyth Athletic Colts are also 100%, but have played only twice.
𧱠There are unbeaten teams hiding well below first place
Pollokshields are fourth in the Premiership but havenât lost: W1 D2 L0.
East End Heart are fifth in Division One and havenât lost either: W1 D2 L0.
Innercity are sixth in Division Two and remarkably havenât lost or won â three games, three draws.
âïž Division Three already has a proper early race
Dennistoun Saints and Glasgow Villa have both taken 9 points from 9, while Clydebank Sunday sit behind them with 6 from 6.
Thatâs three clubs in the same division who havenât dropped a single point.
đŠ Woodhillâs debut isnât looking like a one-off anymore
We featured Woodhill after winning their first-ever GDSFC game. Three league games later theyâre 3/3, 17 scored, four conceded and top of Division Four.
Thatâs now a developing season story rather than simply a nice opening-day result.
đ The Premiership table is deceptive
Todholm have raced to 9 points, but Maryhill Milan immediately behind them have 6 from 6, while fourth-placed Pollokshields and fifth-placed Kelburne are also unbeaten.
So Todholmâs perfect start hasnât opened up the division nearly as much as the table position might suggest.
This is only Week Three.
Some of these numbers will disappear almost as quickly as they appeared. Others could become genuine stories of the season.
Thatâs what weâre looking for.
As the weeks build up, so does the information we can compare â not just where a club is now, but how it got there and what changed along the way.
