Hermitage United got the opening round underway in fine fashion on Friday, August 28th, laying down an early marker for the campaign. In a pulse-pounding, end-to-end clash, Hermitage edged out Cumbernauld Colts 4–2 to secure the first three points of the season. Cumbernauld showed plenty of heart going forward, but Hermitage’s clinical finishing proved to be the decisive difference.

Saturday afternoon mirrored Friday’s scoreline as Burnbank FC matched Hermitage’s six-goal spectacle in a blockbuster derby against Blantyre Soccer Academy. Burnbank proved too sharp on the attack, battling through a resilient Blantyre side to earn a well-deserved 4–2 victory and kickstart their campaign on a high note.
