SATURDAYS CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS REVIEW

The Hills Solicitors Championship produced another important set of results on Saturday, with Remo and Westhill United going head-to-head in a battle for top spot while Gladstone were not in league action.

Here’s how the Championship action unfolded.

Saturdays Results ⬇️

Glasgow Ansar AFC 4 Cambuslang Football Academy AFC 0

ANSAR SHOCK CAMBUSLANG WITH BIG VICTORY

Glasgow Ansar turned up and put on a real show by putting four past Cambuslang FA without reply.

Loosing emphatically during midweek to Westhill United hurt the Ansar players but they really responded well to the midweek set back and racked up a big win of their own today.

Kings Park United AFC 0 Eastwood Park Mount AFC 5

KINGS PARK COME UP SHORT AGAINST RAMPANT EASTWOOD PARK MOUNT

Doubles from Morrison and Runciman helped make this a miserable week for Kings Park United and who lost for the second time this week.

Initial updated table

Lokomotiv Glasgow AFC 1 Clydebank SM AFC 8

CLYDEBANK CONTINUE RUN OF GREAT FORM

The Bankies are on a roll and whilst winning away to Lokomotiv isn’t that much of a surprise the nature of the 8-1 victory certainly raised some eyebrows amongst the other managers within the league.

Pollok United SMAFC 0 Muirend AFC 3

MUIREND COME OUT ON TOP OF CLOSE ENCOUNTER

Remo FC 3 Westhill United FC 2

REMO BACK ON TRACK MUCH TO WESTHILL’S DISSAPOINTMENT

Two clubs seemingly locked together for eternity put on another fantastic game with Remo running out 3-2 winners in Renfrew.

Southside United AFC 1 Westerlands AM AFC 5

WESTERLANDS PUT ON FIVE STAR PERFORMANCE

Three goals from Andrew Duthie helped extinguish Southside United’s hopes of picking up the win. Westerlands produced a top performance at Firhill to inflict another defeat on the home team.

Third Lanark AFC 3 Nethercraigs AFC 1

THIRD LANARK ADD TO NETHERCRAIGS WOES

Third Lanark responded to a heavy defeat of their own in midweek by inflicting another defeat on Nethercraigs with a top drawer away performance.

Remo’s 3–2 win over Westhill United was the result that really caught the eye, especially with Gladstone not in league action, but there were statements being made right across the Championship.

Clydebank SMFC hit eight, Eastwood Parkmount scored five without reply, while Glasgow Ansar responded to their midweek setback with an impressive 4–0 victory.

There was individual quality too, with Andrew Duthie hitting a hat-trick for Westerlands and doubles from Morrison and Runciman helping Eastwood Parkmount to their big win.

Plenty to digest from a Championship Saturday that showed just how quickly the picture can change.
